Exploring Edinburgh's Events - October 2019

Tuesday, 8 October 2019 Edinburgh, UK

Happy October! I had great intentions of posting this blog on the 1st of the month, however, I ended up feeling a bit under the weather last week and took a few days off. Anyway, there's plenty going on this month in Edinburgh, so much so that I found it tricky narrowing it down to just a handful of events. Upon first glance, it seems to be a month of exciting pop-ups! From Treen and Lifestory at Custom Lane and Meander Apparel at Space at Seventeen to RU.ST Jewellery's trunk show at Dahlia store, there's plenty of great opportunities to get a head start on your Christmas shopping (only 78 days!). So, keep scrolling for a nosey at a mixture of free and paid events as well as a section towards the bottom focussed on what events I'm most excited for. Have a lovely October!

P.S. I'd love for this blog to be a space to share recommendations so if there's anything you feel I've missed, please do leave it in the comment section below.

Pockets of Pretty: An Instagrammer's Edinburgh (Waterstones, 17th September, Free)

I have some exciting news to share with you! Some of you who follow me on Instagram might know that I've written a book about Edinburgh which is to be released on the 10th October. Well, I'd like to warmly invite you to celebrate with me at Waterstones (128 Princes Street) on the 17th October at 6.30pm for the official book launch. There will be an 'In Conversation' chat where Susan Doherty from Lifestory and I will chat about all things book and Edinburgh related, plus there will be brownies by the Pastry Section, and hopefully time to have a wee chat.

If you'd like to join, please RSVP laura.odonnell@blackandwhitepublishing.com, just so we have a rough idea for numbers.

100/100/2019 Art Fundraiser Exhibition  (Saorsa Art Gallery, until 11th October)

I'd just like to shine a light on this wonderful exhibition for a great cause. 100/100 is an exhibition of paintings by gallery owner Tommy Fitchet to raise funds for Cancer Research. There's a mixture of landscapes and seascapes, priced at £100 each and £25 will go to charity. So, if you're in Stockbridge before the 13th October, why not pop in for a browse!

  1. Oh I really enjoy your blog! I’m from Stockholm and new to Edinburgh so I find your blog very helpful. I agree that living in a world where there is an October makes you glad. Alice

    1. Thanks so much for your lovely comment, Alice! That's made my day. Hope you're settling into Edinburgh well xx

  2. Or on the other hand it has been deferred multiple times.
