There's always so much going on in Edinburgh, it's often quite hard to keep track of it all. I thought it might be useful, both for myself and hopefully a few of you, if I started a monthly blog series of fun events to look out for in Edinburgh! Here's a few events I've spotted which are taking place this October.

Do leave me a comment if you feel I've left anything important out - sharing is caring!

5 Events to Look Out For in October - Edinburgh

1. Marks & Spencer Food Trail (6th October)

If you're in Edinburgh city centre this coming Saturday be sure to pop by Castle Street where Marks & Spencer are celebrating their 100 years in Scotland with their family-friendly food festival "Taste Trail". There will be live cooking demos, local supplier talks and lots of fun foodie activities!

2. Edinburgh Coffee Festival (6th October)

Some of you may or may not know that I actually don't drink coffee... but having written my dissertation on Edinburgh coffee shops, I feel like an honorary coffee drinker. Plus this year's Edinburgh Coffee Festival also features tea brands like Rosevear Tea and Eteaket! So, don't forget the Edinburgh Coffee Festival will take place this Saturday at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

3. Edinburgh Cocktail Week (15th-21st October)

If cocktails are your thing, head over to ECW's website and buy yourself a wristband. You'll enjoy £4 signature cocktails at over 80 bars across the city and at the new Cocktail Village at Festival Square on Lothian Road.

4. Scottish International Storytelling Festival (19th-31st)

The Scottish International Storytelling Festival is back for its 30th year! The festival brings together Scottish and international storytellers to unearth ancient roots. You can expect live storytelling, oral traditions and cultural diversity.

5. Scottish Vegan Festival (20th October)

I have to admit I've never been but I'm very keen to go! The bi-annual festival is organised by the Farplace Animal Rescue as part of a series of vegan festival events. This October they're back with a fantastic programme packed with hot and cold food, cosmetics, workshops etc..

That's all for now x
